of Consumers/Clients/Adoptive parents
NHIA SERVICES For scheduled payment NHIA
shall use its best efforts to locate for adoption an adoptive
child, or adoptive children, pursuant to the recommendations
of the home study report, and to assist the Adoptive Parent(s)
in their compliance with the laws of the foreign country. Clients
have the right to accurate and timely information about their
adoption. NHIA shall respect the civil rights of all applicants
served by this agency. At no time shall any discrimination/preference
be exhibited that may be related to age, race, religion, sex,
ethnic/cultural background, etc. except regarding wide or narrow
age differences of applicants relative to adoptive children
in which case review by the social work supervisor will be mandatory
or in the case of adoption requirements set by individual countries.
Applicants shall be treated with dignity. All information gathered
will be kept confidential, all files will be stored in a secure
location. Information released must be requested in writing
by authorized persons.
Clients rights include the right to privacy, fee disclosure,
contribution amount disclosure, grievance and complaint process,
refund policy, termination policy, and the right to be treated
with dignity. The client shall be informed of these policies
verbally and in writing. A signed copy shall be maintained in
the Client record.
Client responsibilities include providing the agency all requested
documents, information, materials and payments in a timely,
transparent manner in order to expedite the adoption.
